Many people see tutoring as something temporary.
A flexible job during university.
A side role before moving into a “real” career.
But sometimes, you find work that feels different.
The kind of work where you are so engaged that you never catch yourself thinking, “When does my shift end?”
For Nayuta, that realisation came after years of tutoring.
Nayuta joined Contour Education in 2022 during the final semester of his Bachelor of Biomedicine. After completing his final exam for his Masters in Biomedical Engineering last June, he decided to transition into tutoring full time with Contour.
The reason was simple.
“Having tutored for 8 full years, I realised that I've never EVER gotten sick of tutoring. Every class/student presents me with new challenges, and this non-repetitive environment has kept me on my feet and find ways to tutor better.”
Tutoring is constantly evolving. Every class is different, every student learns differently, and every lesson is an opportunity to improve how you teach.
“Ive had a lot of work experience and I don't think anything will ever beat tutoring, which is why I decided to become a full time tutor.”
For Nayuta, the impact of tutoring goes beyond the classroom and the moment a student understands a difficult concept. It becomes even more meaningful when those same students return as tutors, a powerful reminder of the long term impact tutors can have.
“I would say that seeing students come back to apply for Contour is really rewarding.”
“Not only did they achieve outstanding results, but they think of Contour as an environment they'd like to keep in touch with, and give students the opportunity to have a positive experience like they did.”
Moments like this reinforce why tutoring can become more than just a job.
For Nayuta, the feeling is simple.
“I would say that loving your job and seeing DIRECT impact makes it easy.”
“If you find it rewarding to see students achieve their goals, having fun and learning in an environment that you can take credit for building, and have never thought to yourself while tutoring students ‘when does my shift end’, then this is the job for you.”
