Argument Analysis
You'll build your analytical skills for persuasive texts from the ground up. Starting with an introduction to argument analysis and a walkthrough of a VCAA exam, you'll work through persuasive techniques, text structure, image analysis, and response writing. Article walkthroughs and high-scoring samples sharpen your exam technique before a SAC revision week.

An in-depth study of Sunset Blvd. You'll explore the film's major themes including the commoditisation of the star, fame, fantasy and reality, relationships and manipulation, and gender roles. The module builds toward likely SAC prompts, with two dedicated SAC revision weeks to consolidate your analytical writing.

Creating Texts
This module develops your ability to write original, purpose-driven texts. You'll work through the theme of Journeys using mentor texts including The Red Plastic Chair, Bidngen, and The Walter Project. You'll craft and workshop your own pieces, develop your reflective commentary skills, and review high-quality sample SAC responses. Closes with a SAC revision week.

A rich thematic study of Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. You'll examine the text through the lenses of racial identity, apartheid, patriarchal society and gender roles, hardship, language and education, and crime and violence. The module builds toward likely exam prompts and closes with a SAC revision week.
