Area of Study
Argument Analysis
You'll develop the skills to read, annotate, and analyse persuasive texts. Starting with an introduction to argument analysis and a review of VCAA exam structure, you'll build your understanding of persuasive techniques, text structure, image analysis, and how to write a high-scoring analytical response. You'll work through article walkthroughs and high-scoring samples before a dedicated SAC revision week.

Creating Texts
This module develops your capacity to write original, purposeful texts. You'll begin with an introduction to the text Cairo and explore its major themes including art and morality, identity, belonging, rebellion, power, and memory. Through mentor texts and workshopping sessions, you'll craft and refine your own creative pieces. You'll also develop your reflective commentary writing skills. Two workshopping weeks and a SAC revision block close out the module.
Revision
Exam Preparation
A comprehensive exam preparation block covering all three sections of the English exam. You'll work through dedicated revision sessions for Creating Texts, Text Response, and Argument Analysis, building your exam technique and refining your written expression before the final examination.
