Selective Entry Family Workshop
How selective entry works, what good preparation looks like, and how to help, with a session for parents and a session for students.

An unmissable morning for families aiming for a selective school
Families often misunderstand the selective entry exam: how to prepare, and how much to prepare. The exam also changed format from the June 2026 sitting, so most advice out there is out of date.
This is the clearest, most current explanation you can get, for familiies of students in Years 5 to 7

Who you'll hear from

Co-Founder of TestPrep
Ramodh Jayasinghe
Contour TestPrep is co-founded by Ramodh Jayasinghe, who is also a co-founder of Contour MedPrep. He was the Dux of Melbourne High School with a perfect 99.95 ATAR and is now a final year medical student at Monash University.
Under Ramodh's leadership, Contour MedPrep has become Australia's most successful UCAT tutoring program. With the same framework and approach, Ramodh and the team successfully launched Contour's Selective Entry Program as the fastest-growing Selective Entry Program in Victoria, designed to help students confidently gain entry into Melbourne High, Mac.Rob, Nossal, and Suzanne Cory.

Head of Selective Entry
Subramanian Babu
Subramanian (Subu) is our Head of Victorian Selective Entry and is a Melbourne High graduate. Subu has authored both mock exams, along with both their written and video solutions. He built the exams from the ground up to reflect the true challenge, scope, and style of the real Selective Entry exam. He will also be personally delivering the exam preparation and review workshops for Signature students.
Under Subu's leadership, Contour has rebuilt Victorian Selective Entry preparation from scratch - not to "game" the system, but to teach the genuine critical thinking and problem solving skills the exam is designed to measure. Subu's goal isn't simply to help students gain entry, it's to ensure every student has the foundation to thrive even after they gain entry!

Student & Parent Panel Discussion
Student representatives from each of the four selective entry schools and a parent share their experiences of preparing for the selective entry exam, the application process, and their advice to prospective students on how to succeed.

Take it home
Every student gets a printed workbook and every parent gets a pamphlet, so the plan keeps going after the morning ends.
