The Format

A full term of tutoring, packaged into one focused week.

Holidays used to go to waste. Weeknights are full of sport, music, family, and school, so weekly tutoring can't stretch further. Intensive replaces that lost week with a structured, in-person program.

35hrs
of tutoring and practice questions across the week, with regular mock exams and lunch and morning tea on us every day.
1,000+
pages of content and practice questions, all yours to take home and use across the term.
1218
students in a small group with a dedicated primary tutor for the whole week.
$1,260
per subject, exactly the same as our 12-week term pricing - effectively $36 per hour.

Who teaches it

The same tutors, the same standard, in a format built for the holidays.

Contour Intensive is taught by the qualified tutors already tutoring weekly classes in our term program. Each tutor is rigorously vetted through a competitive application process before being trained and accredited through the Contour Tutor Academy.

Our tutors regularly produce 45+ raw study scores and 99+ ATAR outcomes in their cohorts, and the Intensive team is no different.

Every class has a dedicated primary tutor with the same students all week, and the curriculum carries the same tutoring quality as term.

We've seen year after year, the students that do best in their subjects are the ones walking into Term 3 knowing Unit 4 so they can start exam prep early and also make sure they're on top of SACs. Students that go with the motions start to stress out when exam time comes because your last SAC is usually only 3–5 weeks away from your first exam.

FAQ

Questions families actually ask.

Everything from how it differs from term, to what's included in the fee.

How is this different from Contour's term program?

The term program is our flagship: 12 weeks of weekly live tutoring, workshops, portal and support while enrolled, text support, and consults.

Intensive is designed to work in addition to your term tutoring program, giving you the ability to take your learning further on subjects that didn't fit into your schedule during the term.

Same tutors, same curriculum, different delivery model.

How can you cover 12 weeks of content in 5 days?

The 35 hours of program time across five days, 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, with the curriculum packaged to match a full term's content.

Intensive teaches the next term's content, so when school covers it in Term 3, it becomes the second exposure, which is when most learning consolidates.

We would cover 2-hours per week across 12-weeks in our term program, that's 24-hours, which represent 3-4 days in Intensive. The extra time goes into serious practice to get you SAC and exam-ready going back to school

Can I do both term and Intensive?

Yes, and many students will. The ideal pattern is 3 term subjects with Contour plus up to 2 Intensive subjects per holiday cycle, giving full Contour support across all 5 VCE subjects without adding extra weekly commitments. Term classes run in the evenings; Intensive runs 9am to 4pm during the day, so there's no schedule clash.

What happens after the 5 days?

You keep portal access to your class recordings, workbooks, and materials through to the end of the school term whose content was taught. If you continue into the next Intensive, access rolls forward and accumulates across subjects. If you don't continue, access closes at end of that school term.

Is there a free trial?

We're so confident the week changes how Term 3 goes that if you don't see it working by the end of Day 1, we'll refund the full $1,260. No questions, no friction. Just let us know before the start of Day 2 (whether you attended Day 1 or not) and we'll process the refund.

Can I attend online?

Yes, every class has a hybrid Zoom option. In-person is our recommended format because of the in-room energy and the catered, social side of the week. Online students get the workbook and question booklet as PDFs via the portal, sit the Friday mock exam from home during the same window, and mark it in class together with the in-person cohort.

What if a class is full when I try to book?

Each class has a hard cap of 12 to 18 students to keep groups small. If your preferred campus and subject combination is full, you can join a waitlist and we'll be in touch if a spot opens up. Otherwise, the next Intensive cycle is one school holiday away.
